Gary L. Porter is one of the instructors at Cunius School of Martial Arts. Mr. Porter currently resides in Delaware County with his wife Angela, and their children Joshua and Gianna.  He attended Interboro High School and Cairn University in Langhorne. 
Mr. Porter began training in martial arts at the age of 14.  He later joined Mr. James Cunius under the guidance of Master Daniel Pope IV.
Mr. Porter is currently a 4th Degree Black Belt in the art of Tang Soo Do.  He also did 5 1/2 years in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu which he loves, and 3 1/2 years in Judo.
He has also won various multiple championships in World Tang Soo Do Association and open circuit tournaments.
Mr Porter is proficient in Tang Soo Do Forms, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Boxing, Sport Karate, Kickboxing, Weapons (Bo Staff) and Self Defense.

 James T Cunius 

​our Mission

James T. Cunius came to reside in the United States in 1987 from the Philippines. He attended Monsignor Bonner High School in Drexel Hill, PA and Temple University in Philadelphia. Mr. Cunius currently resides in Delaware County with his wife Sandy, and their children Joseph and Amanda.

Mr. Cunius' love for sports began at an early age. He was encouraged by his parents which ultimately led him to start training in martial arts at the age of 16.

He began his training under the guidance of Master Daniel Pope IV.

  • Mr. Cunius is currently a 5th Degree Black Belt in the art of Tang Soo Do.
  • Has won multiple championships in World Tang Soo Do Association and open circuit tournaments.
  • Is proficient in Tang Soo Do Forms, Sport Karate, Kickboxing, Weapons (Bo Staff) and Self Defense.
  • DPK 1998 Outstanding Instructor of the Year


Instructors

Tang Soo Do is a Korean Martial Art that can be dated back to 668 A.D., when Korea was divided into three kingdoms.

The purpose of the specialized form is to perfect technique while enhancing your total self.

There are five codes that apply to all students. These codes are meant to be used as guidance through the training of Tang Soo Do.
